The former CEO of a food concessions company that caused a stir when he was caught on videotape abusing a dog has been fined.

The video, recorded last July in Vancouver, shows Desmond Hague, CEO of food distributor Centerplate entering an elevator in a Vancouver apartment building with a dog. Then he kicks the dog, a 1-year old Doberman named Sade, multiple times in the ribs. Later, he lifts the dog off the ground by its leash.

Centerplate provides concessions for stadiums and venues across the country, including Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

Along with losing his job and being forced to pay $100,000 to animal rights groups, a judge has banned Hague from owning a dog for three years. He also has to pay a $5,000 court fine.

Hague was in court Wednesday where he learned his fate. Hague apologized to the court and said the incident would not happen again.

Centerplate has 30,000 employees, including those at Tropicana Field and the Florida State Fairgrounds.
