In a recent training exercise, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office strapped a GoPro on one of their K-9 officers to show the perspective of an escaped inmate being apprehended.

Thor, handled by Cpl. John Rux, was the dog who participated in the video and exercise. The sheriff's office said they made the video to show how vigilant their K-9 officers are.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit consists of seven K-9/handler teams.

In 2006, the canines were deployed 764 times including searches for criminal suspects or missing persons, resulting in 162 catches (79 felonies, 42 misdemeanors and 41 others). K-9 teams conducted 68 narcotic searches resulting in 41 finds yielding 33 arrests (23 felonies and 10 misdemeanors).

The video was posted on the sheriff's office Facebook page.
