The overnight fire at a home in Tampa where marijuana plants were discovered has been ruled an arson.

According to Tampa Fire Rescue, the Fire Marshal's office has determined the fire at the home at 1414 N Annie Street near 15th Street was set intentionally.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $10,000. There were no injuries.

According to fire officials, the fire was started by an electrical malfunction caused by altered wiring. Because of the intentionally altered wiring the Fire Marshal has ruled the fire the result of arson.

Once fire officials were inside of the home, they discovered about 100 marijuana plants. The Tampa Police Narcotics Division was then notified.

No arrests regarding the fire or the pot discovery but the case remains under investigation.
