A teenager was injured in a drive-by shooting in St. Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports,a 14-year-old boy was standing outside his home in the 4800 block of 12th Avenue South around 4:15 p.m. when a blue SUV stopped and fired multiple shots.

The teen was shot in the foot and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No suspects or motive have been identified yet.

Police were collecting information from witnesses on Tuesday night, but say they were getting conflicting information on who fired the shots.

One witness said she was getting out of her car and heard another car slam on the breaks. She said she saw a boy hanging out the back of the car window with a gun.

Neighbors say children play frequently in the street, and they are worried about what could happen with the suspects still on the loose.

Police are asking that anyone with information in this case call the St. Petersburg Police Department.
