Firefighters battling a house fire in Tampa found a body inside.

Fire crews were called to the home in the 100 block of West Ida Street just after 5 a.m. Saturday.

When fire crews arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the single story home.  Firefighters entered the home but had a difficult time battling the blaze because the floor in one area of the home had become unstable putting firefighters at risk.

Firefighters got the fire under control at 6:35 a.m. and found the remains of a person inside the home. Officials have not identified the person found dead.

The Tampa Police Department said there were several people inside the home when the fire started.

Arson Task Force investigators are working to determine how the fire started which is standard procedure when there is a fire fatality.
