A woman died overnight in St. Petersburg after what police are describing as a drug deal gone bad.

Officers say that around 10:40 p.m, the woman summoned a suspect to the area of 28th Street and 13th Avenue N. to purchase narcotics.

When the suspect arrived, the woman approached the driver's door and a confrontation followed.

A witness told police the woman appeared to reach inside the suspect's vehicle through the driver's door as it drove forward. The woman then let go of the vehicle and hit the pavement, police say.

The woman's identity has not been released, and the suspect has not been identified. The suspect faces manslaughter charges, police say.
