The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that has left a man dead.
According to authorities, a 34-year-old man walked into a Walgreens store in the 5700 block of 18th Street East in Ellenton just with a bullet wound.
David Joseph Ritch said he was walking along 18th Street East in Ellenton at 11:30 p.m. Saturday when he was shot, officials said.
Ritch was transported to an area hospital but died just after 6 a.m. Sunday.
The sheriff's department is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
The case remains under investigation.
