Fred is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue over the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Fred is encountering strong upper-level winds, and it is expected to weaken to a tropical depression on Thursday and become a post-tropical low by Thursday night.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb.
