A man accused of a murder committed in August 2015 was arrested Monday.

Authorities say James Lee Rodgers, 25, shot Eldrid Jashad Martin, 28, on August 8 during an argument over money Rodgers believed he was owed. The argument escalated when Rodgers pulled out a gun, authorities say.

The argument continued, and deputies say Rodgers shot Martin once in the chest. Martin then drew his own gun and fired at Rodgers, wounding him in the neck, leg, and arm.

Martin fled the scene and later died from the gunshot injury.

Rodgers is charged with second-degree felony murder with a firearm.
