When it comes to political ads, presidential candidates hurl them at one another on a regular basis. Political groups also like to get in on the action. Such is the case with the Club for Growth.
In one of their recent ads, the organization said presidential candidate and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has promised, “to take care of everybody (through government-run health care and) the government’s going to pay for it.”
PolitiFact Florida heard the claim and gave it a FALSE rating.
PolitiFact writer Joshua Gillin says that’s because Trump has clearly indicated he is against the Affordable Care Act and anything like it.
“His overall plan does really involve people buying their own insurance and opening up the market more to make it more affordable. And that’s not the same has government-run health care by a long shot," Gillin said.
For that reason, Gillin said the organization’s comment received a FALSE rating.
