One Hernando County woman is giving back to the community that’s given so much to her.

  • Christine Jimenez founded Leave It To Us, Inc.
  • Charity raises money for patients struggling with transportation costs
  • Hopes to expand to entire Bay area

Christine Jimenez started Leave It To Us, Inc. to help people get to and from their medical appointments. The organization raises money to buy gas cards for patients struggling with travel expenses.

“We feel no one should lack the funds to get to a medical appointment,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez survived cancer and knows what it’s like to live day-to-day.

“We’ve had some hard times in our lives and people came through for us,” she said.

The organization currently helps those in Hernando County, but she hopes to expand throughout the Bay area.

“It does my heart good to know I’m actually helping give back for the times I’ve been helped,” Jimenez said. “There’s no other feeling of enlightenment in my body that tells me, ‘You’re doing good.’ It’s really a special feeling in my heart.”

Leave It to Us, Inc. is planning a fundraiser for May 26 at the Locomo Skate Dance Party at 10451 County Line Rd. in Spring Hill at 6 p.m. You can reach the organization on Facebook or at (352) 942-7878.
