A Pasco physician is headed to the Democratic National Convention.

  • Dr. Judy Noel elected as delegate for Hillary Clinton
  • Noel spent years volunteering for presidential campaigns
  • She'll travel to Orlando to help choose elected official who will also serve as delegates

Dr. Judy Noel has been elected as a delegate for Hillary Clinton. She'll be representing Congressional District 12.

"I was crying I was so happy," Noel said.

Noel spent years volunteering for presidential campaigns, but she never thought she'd be selected as a delegate. A lot of political heavy hitters were vying for a spot on the convention floor.

"I was hoping," she said, "but I wasn't counting on it."

Now Noel will have a say in the platform for the Democratic Party -- and the Democratic nominee.

"I am so looking forward to that," Noel said. "It's being part of what I think is history being made."

Next week, she'll make her first official decision in that role. Noel will travel to Orlando to help choose the elected officials who will also serve as delegates for Florida's Democratic Party. She said she's already getting emails from those who want to go.
