The Polk County Sheriff's Office is conducting a suspicious death investigation in Lakeland.
According to authorities, deputies responded to 2236 Everett Street at 11:30 p.m. Monday in response to a shooting.
The shooting victim, a man, later died at an area hospital.
The death investigation is ongoing.
