Here's what you need to know about Tampa Bay's weather for Tuesday:

  • Showers are expected
  • Thunderstorms will linger into the evening
  • Clear overnight; low temperatures in the 70s

An area of high pressure is in the Gulf of Mexico, and we have light and variable winds around Tampa Bay. The winds will be coming onshore with the daily sea breezes.

Partly sunny skies this afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along the sea breeze. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain, and a strong storm is possible.

The chance of rain is 20 percent at the coast and 30 percent inland.

A few thunderstorms will linger this evening, then it will become mostly clear overnight. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s.

Wednesday will be partly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms. A weak steering flow will support slow moving storms, which will result in locally heavy rainfall amounts tomorrow afternoon.

High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s Wednesday.
