Tampa police officers are redirecting traffic after a depression opened up on the 50th Street ramp towards eastbound I-4.
The ramp will remain closed Thursday night for repairs, but Florida Department of Transportation says it should be operational for Friday morning rushhour.
- Possible sinkhole on 50th Street ramp to I-4
- Roadway closed
- FDOT crews working on road, no timetable for reopening
According to authorities, the small hole was discovered Thursday morning near a grate on the side of the roadway.
A crew is working to repair the depression as well as a cracked pipe. As soon as the depression is filled and the pipe repaired, a metal plate will be placed over the area, so the ramp can be reopened.
