A local charity is following up a successful event last year benefiting community mothers, hoping to help even more moms this year.

  • Community Baby Shower put on by M.O.M. Inc
  • In 2015, event helped 30 women
  • Charity founder hopes to help more moms with this year's event

It's enough to make your heart melt.

Nine month old Madison Williams is all smiles, and her mom, Shelba, says she's been in love since day one.

"She's just a joy," said Williams. "She is just so much fun."

Williams, a stay-at-home mom, takes care of Madison while her husband works up to seven days a week. The pair still struggle to make ends meet, and while they were waiting for Madison to arrive, a baby shower was out of the question, or so Williams thought.

Williams was one of 30 women aided by nonprofit M.O.M. Inc (Mothers of Minors) with a community baby shower last year. During the event, a room full of gifts were passed out to mothers-to-be.

Now, event organizer and M.O.M. Inc founder Andrea Clark is collecting donations for this year's event. The hope is to help even more mothers this time around.

“It really was a fulfilling experience," said Clark, speaking about last year's effort. "It does your heart good to be able to help.”

Making a donation to this year's community baby shower is easy. Just drop off new or gently used baby items at the Florida Citrus Country store in Clearwater before the baby shower on July 30th.
