A 53-year-old man was killed Monday night when he was struck by a vehicle in Clearwater.

According to police, the crash happened just after 9 p.m. as Robert Wayne Coon was trying to cross Court Street near Missouri Avenue while out of the crosswalk.
Police said Coon stepped out in front of the first vehicle and was struck by the driver's side mirror and front quarter panel, which knocked him to the ground.
Coon was then run over by another westbound car.
Both cars involved in the accident stayed at the scene and neither driver appeared to be impaired, according to police.
Coon, who officials said had no known address, died at the scene.
