An elementary school teacher is out of jail after being accused of physically abusing two students.

Alison Workman of Cocoa was arrested Wednesday, accused with child abuse at Mila Elementary. She has since posted her $2,000 bond.

Workman is facing felony charges for "yanking" and "grabbing" two 4-year-old special needs students so hard, that she left marks and scratches.

The investigation began earlier this month after DCF got a tip accusing Workman of using this type of punishment towards students. She’s currently on administrative leave from the Brevard County School district.

Parents said these accusations make them upset.

“If you don’t have the mentality to do something the right way, you shouldn’t even be in that situation. People are just really messed up these days,” said Mila Elementary parent Ricky Morales.

Workman is described as an exceptional education teacher at the school.

The 4-year-old victims were students in her special needs VPK class.
