A massive, multi-agency search is still underway in Volusia County, with dozens of people fanning out across Deltona in search of Yessenia Suarez and her two children, missing for a week-and-a-half and believed to be dead.

About 80 people were out searching a massive area of Deltona near Lake Monroe.

And the extra help was needed, because of the ground investigators are trying to cover as well as the weather conditions.

When it comes to covering the dense woods are various bodies of water in this search area, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office is not lacking resources.

On Friday, nearly two dozen additional people were added to the search team.

Volusia, Lake and Seminole Sheriff's Offices are searching.

"The Ocala Police Department, the Daytona Beach Fire Department is here with two cadaver dogs," said Gary Davidson, spokesman for the sheriff's office. "The Volusia County Beach Services have some divers, so we really have a full compliment of personnel.”

And these extra people have been challenged this Friday by the weather.

Davidson said heat and humidity can take its toll. “The weather certainly creates some challenges for our searchers. We need to make sure that they take their rest breaks. That they stay hydrated so that they can continue to do their job. But they're very focused and they're very dedicated.”

The plan is to keep searching through the weekend.

Those out in the woods and on the water hope they find what they're looking for and are prepared for that moment.

“We have an objective and that is to find our victims and bring them home to their loved ones," Davidson stressed. "It's a difficult task, it's challenging, it's grim.”

And as this search goes on, Davidson said there may be a need for some teams to go onto private property.

He asked that property owners be patient with them as they try to cover all the spots they can.
