Hundreds in the Midwest reported seeing a fireball streak across the sky Thursday.

The incident was caught on video by a surveillance camera in North Liberty, Iowa.

Many believe the fireball was a meteor, crashing through the Earth’s atmosphere.

The National Weather Service said it was looking into the reports, but won’t be able to determine for sure what the flash of light was because of its location in the sky.

The American Meteor Society issued a summary after receiving 460 reports.

Reports came from mostly eastern Iowa and described hearing at least three booms.
