A Volusia County man was arrested after deputies said he was drunk and fell through of a department store.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said late Friday night Eric Willard, 23, of Ormond Beach, got into an argument at a bar with his mother. They were kicked out and deputies gave them a trespass warning.

The sheriff’s office said Willard then decided to try to break into a nearby Publix with no luck so he climbed onto the roof of the neighboring Bealls Outlet, pried open an air conditioning panel and crawled through the conduit. Investigators said he then fell through the ceiling into the store, got up and left without taking a thing.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video and the deputy that issued Willard the trespass at the bar recognized. Deputies arrested Willard on Monday and charged him with Burglary of a structure or conveyance.
