The secret space plane that’s moving its operations to Florida’s Space Coast is back on land after spending nearly two years in space.

But if you ask around, you'll be told it’s unlikely we’ll find out why the plane was up there.

The X-37B, the secret space plane, spent an astonishing 674 straight days in outer space.

The unmanned vehicle landed Friday at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, but it soon could land at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

NASA recently announced that the Air Force is moving operations to an old shuttle hangar, right next to the Vehicle Assembly Building.

Here in Florida, U.S. Air Force and Boeing crews will be able to recover, refurbish and re-launch the space plane.

Not a lot is known about what the X-37B did in space; U.S. Air Force officials will only say it conducts experiments.

Some space experts believe its mission is to spy, others suspect it’s a weapon for the U.S. government.

This was the third mission for the program.
