Darden is cutting dozens of jobs as part of a plan to streamline the company and "increase the focus on restaurant operations and improve guest experience."

Darden is cutting 60 support staff jobs and getting rid of 25 positions currently open. Three executives in the company are also leaving. The chief financial officer, the chief human resources officer and the senior vice president for government and community affairs will all leave by the end of the year.

Darden is also closing down its aviation department and selling its planes.

The company said these and other changes will lead to an estimated $20 million in annual cost savings.

Darden got new leadership last month when an activist investor, Starboard Value, took over the company's entire board. The company also sold its Red Lobster chain in May.
