Most companies hope to turn a profit, but Everyday Hero Tara Huff hopes her company raises a few smiles and dollars for charity.

Huff said she started her Sanford company with a fun name, Bashful Bliss, and the idea that it could receive by giving.

“Because our heart is so much into giving back. I think that's where it's derived from and we feel like we can reach a lot more little guys than maybe a couple big guys and those again are the people who don't necessarily get the support,” said Huff.

By “little guys” she means places like the Russell Home for Atypical Children for whom she designed a t-shirt to aid their fundraising.

“Authentic love is what came to my mind with them. What they do for those children and the adults now is amazing and I just love to be a part of something like that,” said Huff.

Huff said she enjoys helping the smaller charities. “With necklaces, bangles, t-shirts where we're able to give back 50% to their organization as well”

And each year she designs something special to honor her mother.

“I have a very strong heart toward breast cancer; I lost my Mom at a very young age, the age of 51so ever since then I have done everything that I have been able to do with my company to create unique designs for breast cancer every year,” said Huff.

This year it was pink bees with proceeds going to the University of Florida Health Cancer Center and recently Bashful Bliss started taking its collection on the road.

The Bashful Bliss boutique truck they've nicknamed “Gretchen” only goes out to fundraising events where the company is trying to give back.”

It's a hands on company that Tara would like to grow and she knows more business means more she can share.

“For instance, relay for life. We gave back, over the last couple of years actually over 35,000 they've raised so that's the biggest group,” said Huff.

Tara hopes the company can expand beyond Florida to other communities where she can work with local charities.
