A catered event at a Maitland office building ended with dozens of people getting food poisoning.
Ambulances from Winter Park, Maitland, Orange and Seminole counties are transporting people who got sick to area hospitals.
At least 50 people were sickened. Of those, 15 to 22 went to the hospital.
The incident was at the Maitland Colonnades office building on Lucien Way. That's west of I-4. About 100 people attended the event, which was an annual holiday get together, according to one employee.
The Maitland Medical director also said the Dept. of Homeland Security is looking into this because so many were sickened.
A spokesman from the Florida Health Dept. noted that the culprit could be any number of things, including the distributor, preparers, transportation, storage and the food itself.
The department is working with hospitals to get samples from the patients.
