A body found in the Ocklawaha River over the weekend has been identified as a Marion County man who had been missing for days.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday that the body found in the water just north of County Road 316 was that of Franklin Wayne Silcox Jr., who had not been seen since Wednesday.

Investigators said Silcox left his home near Graveyard Lake around 10 a.m. Wednesday and never returned.

Crews had searched for Silcox by land, air and water. A boater reported finding the body Sunday afternoon.

The area on the Ocklawaha River where Silcox's body was found is about a half-mile from where he lived with his parents.
