A jury has been selected in the trial of a man accused in a deadly crash at an Orange County day care facility.

Robert Corchado is charged with leaving the scene of the crash, trafficking in heroin, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver and other felonies.

An eight-member jury, featuring five men and three women, was seated by the end of the day Tuesday. Opening statements are set to begin 9 a.m. Thursday.

Corchado faces up to the 30 years in prison if he is convicted.

Fifty potential jurors were questioned Monday and Tuesday about their knowledge of case and how much they have seen about it in the media.

The trial is set to begin Thursday and is expected to last about a week.

Investigators said Corchado, 29, was behind the wheel of a Dodge Durango in April when he plowed into a Toyota Solara, sending that car crashing into a wall of the KinderCare on North Goldenrod Road.

Eleven children and one adult were injured in the crash.  A girl, 4-year-old Lily Quintus, was killed.

Investigators later found Corchado's Durango at a Winter Park home. The residents there said one of their friends dropped off the SUV and left.

Corchado surrendered at the Orange County Jail the following day.
