Manufacturing is still a key to the U.S. economy -- and careers are there if you know where to look.
Manufacturing Day in the U.S is Friday, Oct. 3. It's a day for people to learn more about modern manufacturing and how you could land a job in the industry.
There are more than 500 such companies in Brevard County alone.
Six of them are opening their doors for invitation-only tours to showcase what they do and the jobs they offer.
Part of the hype is the Made in Brevard program, an initiative by the Economic Development Commission of Florida's Space Coast.
The six companies who will give tours are as follows:
- Craig Technologies Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing Center
- Embraer Executive Jets
- Harris Corporation
- Knight's Armament
- Mack Technologies Florida, Inc.
- Rapid Prototyping Services, LLC
