SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 — a little more than a week after the original launch was delayed.

The rocket blasted off through the night sky over Brevard County. The Falcon 9 rocket is carrying the AsiaSat 6 communications satellite. AsiaSat provides television services for about 66 percent of the world.

The launch was delayed Sunday by 10 minutes because of weather. The rocket was supposed to blast off from the Space Coast Wednesday, Aug. 27, but it was scrubbed.

The rocket delivered its payload into orbit about 32 minutes after launch. The satellite will provide video and broadband services for the next 15 years.
