Governor Rick Scott plans to sign a bill that moves the date of next year's presidential primary in Florida.

Wednesday, the Legislature approved moving the primary to March 15.

Florida held its last two presidential primaries in January in order to have a bigger effect on the race.

But political parties punished Florida by taking away some of its delegates, affecting how many people from the state could attend the national conventions.

In the Election of 2008, the debacle also caused controversy in the Democratic nominating process. Hillary Clinton won the Florida primary, but the party only granted half-votes to Florida delegates.
