Gov. Rick Scott is heading to Paris.

Scott leaves Friday afternoon for a quick trip to France for an international air show. He plans to be back by Monday.

In 2012 and 2013, Scott took trade mission trips to Paris and London for air shows, but skipped the one last year while he was campaigning.

Scott's trip comes as state legislators are racing to pass a new state budget. Some of Scott's top priorities are still up in the air with just days left in a special session. Because of the session Scott is taking a shorter trip than initially planned.

Florida, with its mix of airports and military installations, is a leading state in the nation when it comes to the aerospace industry.

This marks the 11th trip abroad since Scott became governor.
