Patients moved into a new wing at Florida Hospital Kissimmee Monday.

The new wing, the greatest expansion in the hospital’s history, has 80 beds in private rooms with some of the latest technology like web cameras on screens that connect patients to doctors no matter where they are.

The new tower also has a gift shop and Cocina 8, a Latin-themed cafeteria, as well as a chapel and healing garden.

“We’re very excited that our new patient tower is now open at Florida Hospital Kissimmee,” said Jeff Villanueva, administrator of Florida Hospital Kissimmee. “This beautiful facility will be enjoyed by our patients, staff and the community for decades to come.”

The tower is part of a multi-phase expansion at Florida Hospital Kissimmee and took 18 months to construct.
