Detectives seized more than $30,000 Monday during a months-long investigation into three illegal gambling establishments in Lake County.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the three-month investigation was initiated after receiving multiple citizen complaints on the businesses alleging that they were illegal.

Search warrants were served for the establishments of Stop and Play Recreational Center and Lucky Joe’s Sweepstakes in Leesburg and Stop and Play in Clermont.

Aside from the money, detectives were able to seize 160 all-in-one computer gaming systems, 9 flat screen televisions, 60 computer monitors and a 2014 Jaguar vehicle, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau.

The Sheriff’s Office said that the Stop and Play in Leesburg is operated by the same individual who owned the gaming establishment in Eustis. Detectives issued a search warrant last week on that establishment.

Deputies are investigating a possible connection between that one and the other two establishments that were raided Monday.
