NASA says sea levels are rising to the point where it’s unavoidable that a portion of Florida will be underwater in the decades ahead.

New research out from NASA finds that sea levels will rise three feet, and nothing can be done to stop it.

The findings mean residents in Florida need to be prepared in the coming decades.

NASA says Florida is one of the most vulnerable states for coastal impact, due to our low elevation.

NASA researchers say HALF of Florida will likely be underwater by the year 2150.

What’s worse, higher sea levels mean higher storm surges during Hurricanes and tropical storms.

What’s causing the rise?

Scientists say it’s due to the expansion of warmer ocean water, ice loss from the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and melting mountain glaciers.

NASA says they don’t want to scare people, but they do want people to be prepared.

For example, at the Kennedy Space Center, NASA has been considering moving launch pads farther inland, due to sea levels.
