A grassroots effort is asking people to stand with law enforcement officers on Friday.

The National Sheriff's Association is spreading the word. Organizers are asking people to wear blue or display blue in solidarity for the officers who have been killed or hurt in the last two weeks.

It's part of a grassroots effort to support law enforcement.

There will also be a moment of silence at 10 a.m. Friday for law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

That's also the start time for the funeral for Deputy Darren Goforth, the Harris County, Texas deputy who was killed last week while pumping gas.

Shannon Miles is accused of his murder.
