United Launch Alliance is set to launch an Atlas V rocket Friday.

The rocket will carry the U.S. Air Force's 12th Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF satellite into orbit.

The 19-minute launch window opens at 8:38 a.m. EST.

ULA said the weather forecast shows a 40 percent chance of favorable conditions for launch.

The launch is ULA's first of 2016.
