Up to 700 barrels of crude oil have spilled in Southern California from a leaking pipeline, according to the Associated Press.
The spill reportedly happened in the Ventura County area early Thursday morning near Hall Canyon.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene. Hazmat teams are also at the scene.
Initially, firefighters believed the spill was 210,000 gallons of crude oil, about 5,000 barrel, but once the assessed the scene the number was reduced.

Officials feared the oil could flow out to the beach , but crews were able to stop it from flowing to the ocean.
