  • A sidewalk is set to go in where two teens were killed near Old Dixie Highway. In 2009 14 year-old Colton Myers was killed and 17-year-old Enrique Hernandez was killed while walking to school just last year.
  • The statue at Lake Mirror was put in place to pay tribute to the spirit of volunteerism. The celebrated statue has fallen on hard times of late and is currently covered with a thick film of dirt.
  • On Monday, Winter Haven police posted a picture of 22-year-old Alicia Stankwick on the department's Facebook page. The posting helped to re-unite the young woman with her mother in less than a day.
  • Some of the young members at All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland are part of the church's Summer Mission Work Program. And they are not going far to participate.
  • William Birmingham, 7, walks away from one of the cross memorials he helped fix. The nearly 400 crosses were put in place at Lake Hollingsworth as part of this weekend's Warrior Walk.
  • Caden Wilson, 7, got to throw the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game Tuesday night. The Lakeland boy has cystic fibrosis, and his family has been struggling financially, especially after lightning destroyed the house they built with Habitat for Humanity.
  • The carpenter's building on the property that used to be home to Without Walls Central in Lakeland has fallen into disrepair. On Tuesday, the property was auctioned off in a bankruptcy proceeding.
