Nick Rodriguez has hit the century mark.

Carrollwood Day's head baseball coach, who began his career at Tampa Prep as an assistant in 2001, won his 100th career game Saturday with the Patriots 11-1 win over Santa Fe Catholic. His win total improved to 100-67.

Under Rodriguez, the Patriots are off to a 4-3 start.

"I have been very fortunate to have this success, but it's due to some great mentors and so many players who bought in to a system and simply out-worked people," Rodriguez said in a release. "Carrollwood Day Baseball is currently in an exciting time. With many young players given a shot to compete, and high expectations, it's a fun program to be a part of. Our goal is to be in the conversation of great baseball schools.

"With outstanding academics, an opportunity to compete, and a competitive schedule, I think we are off to a great start here."

Rodriguez made a name for himself in the Bay area as the first head coach in Bishop McLaughlin's history when he was hired in 2005. Under Rodriguez, the Hurricanes won three district titles and made the playoffs five years in a row. He was named Pasco County Coach of the Year in 2010.
