Dr. Phillips is in the business of sending girls basketball players to college.

Monday senior Ionna McKenzie verbally committed to Texas Tech over FAU, UCF, UGA and FAMU.

"They [Texas Tech] just had the best conference, the Big 10 has the most competition and I want to play at the next level against the best competition," McKenzie explained.

She also mentioned that the coaching staff reminded her a lot of her high school coaches and there was chemistry on the first meeting.

The Panthers will graduate all four seniors with Division 1 scholarships this year; Jade Cheek (FAU), Taryn Griffey (Arizona) and Matea Britvar (St. Bonaventure).

This is the second season coach Anthony Jones will graduate a senior class that has inked college basketball scholarships.

"I'm very excited that my second group of seniors, second year in a row, all four have signed to play Division 1 basketball," coach Jones said.

The Panthers are currently three-time defending State Champions and two-time National High School Champions.
