In their signature win of the season the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons upset the Tampa Catholic Crusaders in a five-set shocker.

It was a close one throughout the match, with each team trading momentum as the sets went on. St. Pete Catholic claimed the first set behind star outside hitter Christina Calandra, who managed 5 Kills before suffering an ankle injury that would keep her on the bench for the rest of the night.

With Calandra on the sideline, Tampa Catholic took control of set two as Abby Zimroth (22 Kills) unloaded on the Barons defense with her explosive attack.

St. Pete Catholic wasn't going down easy however. With their main point-getter out of the game, someone had to step-up if they hoped to survive the match. That someone turned out to be "BHSN Player of the Game" Fallon Fratone (5 Kills, 8 Blocks). The senior middle blocker was an impenetrable force on defense keeping her team alive as they took a 2-1 set lead.

When it looked like the Barons were on track to finish the match off in four sets, the Crusaders unleashed their best effort of the night. The tandem of Natalie Nammour (15 Kills, 2 Blocks) and Abby Zimroth was too much for the Barons to handle and they fell in the fourth set 25-9.

In a gridlocked set five, both teams looked poised to go home with a win. They each put forth their best efforts in the final set but St. Pete Catholic outlasted Tampa Catholic 15-13 to claim the victory.
