The Lakeland Christian Vikings defeated the First Academy Royals 53-27 in the class 3A region finals on Friday night.
Vikings senior quarterback Christian Alexander threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to sophomore Larenz Deshazor near the end of the first half, capping off a 21-point second quarter and giving the home side a commanding 28-6 lead at the break.
Lakeland Christian (11-1) marched right back down the field on the opening possession of the 3rd quarter on a rushing touchdown from senior Keland White, putting the game out of reach.
The Royals were plagued by turnovers, and end the season at 10-and-2.
The Vikings will play at Jacksonville Trinity Christian in the state semifinals next Friday.
