Ask Tyrie Adams about his 505 passing yards against Northeast, he won’t talk about those numbers. Instead he’ll talk about how the game ended in a loss for the Rebels.

Ask the senior quarterback about last week’s 448 yards, four touchdown effort against Seminole, again, he won’t talk about the numbers. Instead he talks about how the Rebels secured their first win of the season.

That winning effort helped Tyrie earn Bright House Sports Network Athlete of the Week honors.

Tyrie does have numbers in his head, but he’ll always place the team first. He set a personal goal to throw for 1,000 yards in his first three games, a goal he exceeded by 1,036. But when you ask him about his prolific start to the season, he always brings the discussion back to his teammates.

“It’s not only the way I’m playing, it’s really Dixie as a team,” Tyrie said. “We’ve just really come together as a family. Our defense stepped up a lot more and our players, all of us are starting to have a nose for the end zone. It’s just everyone stepping up in a big way.”
