Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher announced starting nose tackle Niles Lawrence-Stample is out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle. He will undergo surgery after playing through the injury during the win against Clemson last weekend.

Lawrence-Stample had nine tackles, including a half tackle for loss, this season.

Junior Derrick Mitchell, Jr. will start alongside junior defensive tackle Eddie Goldman. Senior Desmond Hollin, freshman Derrick Nndai and freshman Demarcus Christmas will rotate along the line.

Lawrence-Stample moved into the nose tackle position vacated by Baltimore Ravens second-round pick Timmy Jernigan.

The top-ranked Seminoles are the No. 81 run defense in the nation, allowing 170.67 rushing yards per game. Florida State travels to play N.C. State on Saturday.
