River Ridge's Nathan Smith scored a natural hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Newsome in game one of the FHSAA doubleheader on BHSN.

Austin Anderson picked up his 15th goal of the season and Brian Brady knocked in an empty-netter for Knights, who improve to 9-7-1.

Newsome's Chase Spinalelli picked up two goals in the loss.

Connor green made 25 saves in net for the Royal Knights.

The River Ridge Royal Knights moved one step closer to making the playoffs with the win. River Ridge will meet Sarasota in their final game of the season on February 6th.

Newsome was unable to capitalize on the power play, going 0-for-4 on the night.

The nightcap featured a matchup of two of the top teams in the league, battling for playoff seeding as the regular season winds down.

The Wiregrass Ranch Ice Hawks beat the East Lake Eagles, 8-3.

Hunter Connley started the scoring attack for Wiregrass, who by the end of the night, featured five different players with a goal.

East Lake's Michael Kovacs picked up his 11th and 12th goals of the season and Tristan Sawyer would add a third.

The teams were tied at the beginning of the second period. After that, Wiregrass ran away with the night, featuring a hat-trick by forward Daniel Blank.

Spencer Geer, Taylor Calta and Zach Marquardt also scored for Ice Hawks.

Zac Gazzana made 26 saves in the win.

Wiregrass Ranch improves to 12-4-1, improving their positioning in the playoffs, while East Lake drops to 11-6.
