After 60 scoreless minutes, Santa Fe Catholic broke through for two goals within 30 seconds to defeat SLAM Academy 2-0 and will make their first-ever state title game appearance in the 1A Championship on Thursday.

Sophomore Frezghi Noel got the Crimson Hawks on the board, with his 6th goal of the season, off an assist from 30-goal scorer Joey Dotson.  Noel assisted on Santa Fe Catholic's second goal, a strike from Juan Morales.  The Titans from SLAM Academy had numerous scoring chances, and outshot the Crimson Hawks 11-9, but junior goalkeeper Ryan Santiago had a strong performance in recording his sixth shutout of the season.

Santa Fe Catholic was making their first Final Four appearance since 1997 and will face Orangewood Christian in Thursday's 1A title game at 3 PM, live on Bright House Sports Network (Channel 47/HD1147).  Both teams will be looking for their first-ever winter soccer state title (Orangewood Christian won three state titles when fall soccer was an FHSAA-regulated sport).
