Caleb White scored 14, Antonio Robinson had 13 points and eight assists, and Terry Whisnant's 3-pointer with 1:06 left gave East Carolina the lead for good in a 71-66 win over Central Florida on Saturday.

Robinson made a layup and, after an ECU steal, Whisnant hit a 3-pointer with just more than a minute remaining to give the Pirates (14-16, 7-10 American Athletic Conference) the lead, 66-64, for good.

Neither team scored until Robinson hit 1 of 2 free throws to make it a three-point game with eight seconds to play. After UCF's Brandon Goodwin hit 1 of 2 from the line to make it 67-65 with five seconds to go, Whisnant and B.J. Tyson — who finished with 11 and 13 points, respectively — made two free throws apiece to seal it.

Adonis Henriquez led UCF (12-16, 5-12) with 14 points.

ECU shot 57 percent from the field.
