Looks like Tampa Catholic isn't in need of a new head coach.

School officials announced Mike Gregory will remain as the Crusaders football coach, three weeks after Gregory announced his resignation.

"We never wanted Mike to leave," Tampa Catholic principal Thomas Reidy said. "He and I had continued to stay in communication over the last three weeks, so I took one last stab at retaining him. We are very happy to have him stay as our coach."

Three weeks ago, Gregory announced he was stepping down as the Crusaders head coach to spend more time with his family, including his wife who is expecting the couple's first child.

Gregory has been with the Tampa Catholic program for six years. His first four seasons he served as an assistant coach.

As the Crusaders head coach the past two seasons, Gregory compiled a 14-11 record.
