For six innings East River senior pitcher Stephanie Bryden held the Canterbury bats in check, but a late rally by the Crusaders pushed the game to extra innings and the youngsters of Canterbury were able to get the 4-3 victory at the 23rd annual Kissimmee Klassic.

Bryden, a UNC-Greensboro signee, tripled in the sixth and eighth innings, helping her own cause and gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Canterbury sophomores Miranda Posey and Kama Woodall, along with senior Maddie Posey, led the way combining for seven hits and two RBIs

Hailey Hopkins got the win in relief for Canterbury, pitching two innings and allowing no runs. East River falls to 12-3 on the season, while Canterbury improves to 13-1.

In the second match up, tournament first-timers Ocala Forest and Cocoa Beach proved to everyone in Kissimmee why they belonged there.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on a 2-run triple by junior Kaitlyn Peters. That would be all the runs they would need as junior Florida Gulf Coast commit Morgan White held the Minutemen in line, giving up just four hits and one run on the night and striking out 12 in the 2-1 win.

The victory moves Ocala Forest to 18-1 on the season, while Cocoa Beach drops just their second game of the year at 15-2.
