The Jesuit Tigers swept the season series against their rival Tampa Catholic for the fourth time in the last five seasons, taking down the Crusaders 9-5 at Paul Straub Field at Hyer Family Park.

The Tigers' Division-I recruits were on full display.  Vanderbilt commit Michael Sandborn made just his third appearance on the season, but managed to hold Tampa Catholic to two earned runs over 4.1 innings to pick up the win.  North Carolina signee Cole Gibbs blasted a three-run home run to right-center in the bottom of the first and Duke signee Kennie Taylor reached base in all four of his plate appearances (two singles, intentional walk, reached on error) and scored three runs.  Florida State signee Ronnie Ramirez closed out the victory for the second straight game.

Tampa Catholic battled back after falling behind 4-0 through two innings.  USF commit Jordan Santos drilled a two-run home run to dead center, his first of the season, in the top of the third.  His RBI single in the top of the fifth pulled the Crusaders to within one run, as they trailed 5-4.  But the Tigers tacked on key insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by a double off the wall from Jacob Mocny and a two-run single from his younger brother Alex Mocny.

Jesuit (14-7) wins their 14th game out of their last 17 and plays their final regular season district game at Spoto tomorrow.  Tampa Catholic (9-9) will also face their final district foe of the regular season, as they travel to Sarasota to battle Booker.
